Hi everyone, I've had Nexora fibre broadband for about 3 months now, but recently it keeps dropping out multiple times a day. I've rebooted the router a few times and made sure cables are secure, but it doesn't seem to help. My speeds also feel much slower than what I was promised. Is anyone else having these problems? Not sure if I should call support or if it's a known issue.
Hi LisaM89, sorry to hear about the connection drops. Could you please check if your router’s firmware is up to date? Also, if possible, connect a device via Ethernet cable to see if the problem persists on wired connections. This helps us rule out Wi-Fi interference.
Thanks for the tip. How do I check the firmware? I'm not very tech savvy. Also, I’m mostly using Wi-Fi but I can try with a cable later if needed. Would the issue cause the speed to drop too?
No worries! To check firmware, log into your router by typing 192.168.1.1 into your browser and look for ‘Firmware’ or ‘Software Update’ in the settings menu. If that sounds tricky, let us know and we can guide you through or arrange a technician visit. Lower speeds can indeed be linked to frequent disconnects or signal interference.
I don’t really want to mess about with router settings, honestly. The connection was fine at first, so I’m frustrated it’s gotten worse. If problems keep happening, I might have to consider switching providers. When can a technician come out to check this properly?
