Hi all, I’ve been with Nexora for about 8 months now on the Fibre 100 package but recently my broadband speed keeps dropping to as low as 5Mbps, especially in the evenings. My setup is quite simple, just the standard router they gave me. I’ve tried restarting it a few times but no luck. Could this be a fault or is the network just congested? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hi MartinH, sorry to hear you’re experiencing slow speeds. Can you confirm if the router is connected directly to the master socket? Sometimes extra wiring can affect speeds. Also, has the issue been happening consistently every evening or just random days?
Thanks Helen, yes it’s plugged directly into the main socket. The speed drops mostly after 7pm every day for about 2-3 hours, then it gets better. I don’t think I’ve changed anything else at home that could cause it.
Thanks for confirming. Evening slowdowns can sometimes be due to local network congestion. I can run a line test to check for faults, but it might also be worth checking if there’s a scheduled maintenance in your area. Can I have your postcode to check this?
