SafeSearch keeps turning itself off on my broadband

Hi all, sorry if this is a daft one. I’ve got Nexora broadband and I set the content filtering to 'Family' last week because my little lad keeps using the tablet on the sofa and I wanted safer browsing. It seemed to work at first, but now it keeps switching back to off after a reboot or sometimes just on its own. I’ve checked the app and it says the setting is still on, but the actual filtering isn’t doing anything. Is there some separate safe browsing thing I need to turn on as well? I’m on the Fibre 250 package if that matters. Cheers.

  • Hi Megan, not a daft question at all. What you’re describing usually happens when the Safe Browsing profile is linked in the app, but the router hasn’t fully picked up the policy after a restart. Could you try these steps? 1) Open the Nexora app and confirm the device is assigned to the Family profile. 2) Restart the router from the admin page rather than pulling the plug. 3) Wait 10 minutes after it reconnects before testing again. 4) If you have custom DNS set on the router or on the tablet, that can bypass filtering. If it still flips back off, send me the router model and I can check whether your firmware needs an update. No need to post any account details here.
