Hi, I’ve been with Nexora for about 6 months now on the ‘Fibre 100’ broadband package. Recently, I’ve noticed my download speeds drop dramatically in the evenings, sometimes going below 10 Mbps when I should be getting around 90-100. My IP profile shows no issues, and I’ve restarted the router a few times. Is this normal? Any ideas what I can do? I work from home so this is quite annoying.
Hi Jess, sorry to hear about the slow speeds. Could you please confirm if this happens every evening at the same hours? Also, are you using Wi-Fi or a wired connection during those times? Sometimes congestion in your area or Wi-Fi interference can cause dips.
Thanks Lucy. It’s mostly between 6 and 10 pm on Wi-Fi as I’m in the living room away from the router. I guess it could be interference, but other family members complain about slow speeds too on their devices at the same time.
That does sound like local network congestion during peak hours. We can run a line test and schedule an engineer visit if needed, but usually speeds can slow a bit then. Meanwhile, using a wired connection or trying to position the router more centrally might help. I'll raise a ticket to monitor your line and message you privately with further details.
